Born well after they had stopped making Hudsons, but always had a passion for old car (passed on from my father), I live in a 100+ year old building in a Historic Texas town with my wife and kids. I just recently sold my Studebaker which I kinda' kick myself for, but it does make room for a Hudson! :)
Welcome Danarchy ! If you're from dry Texas, you're way ahead of some of us in locating a nice rust free car !! The rot we see in a lot of old cars in wetter climates is heartbreaking sometimes. Hope you find that perfect Hudson ! There's just no better club anywhere in the world, and the people you'll meet here are second to none ! Please post a picture or two when you get started. And if you haven't already, please join the HET club. If you can't find it there, -- it ain't available.

Well im a new guy here so hope i dont bore ya to bad. I bought a 49 super six about a month ago from a cousin here in kansas. I got the ole girl home sprayed a lil pb blaster in cyl walls let it sit a few days and she turned over. So i hooked up the batt. charger to a very dead battery and began playn i turned on the light switch and walked to rear of the car and there was 1 tail light on i walked to other one it was loose as soon as i wiggled it it came on (i was pretty excited by now) i noticed there was a light for the lic. plate in trunk handle so all i did was wiggled it and it came on also . i didnt have headlights but my dad was messn around in it and turned the switch a bit and they came on so i told him to hit the dimmer switch and it also worked . SWEET then i saw that the hudson emblem in hood also had a light in it i wiggled it but no luck so i pulled it out and it was a lil bent , i straightened it put a bulb in it put it back in and still no luck, i was about to give up and i traced the wires and noticed it was unpluged so i plugged it in walked in front and there she was glowing like she shoulda lol i couldnt believe it. a few days later i was inside it and turned the heater bow switch on and it gave bout a half turn and quit (think it had wasps nest or something in it but the light in the middle of that pearl lookn switch did come on red lol i guess i shoulda told that when i first turned the key on the oil pressure light did come on right away and when turned light switch on the speedometer light came on to lol a few days later on jan. 16 a couple friends were helpn me to see if we could get her running and at 3:30 pm my sweetie came back to life purring like a kitty with a hair ball at first (lol) then she smoothed out WOW im so happy everything on this car has been a treasure everything is with it (all but the SUNVISOR Plz LORD help me find one) (hint) i do have the whole front clip sandblasted and etch primered and ready to seal n paint(Dark Charcoal) hope this didnt bore anyone just thought i would share my exciting hudson story cause i enjoy reading all yours Thank you and GOD bless
